- Start Q1 2026 With a Website That Works as Hard as You Do
As we step into the first quarter of 2026, many business owners are setting fresh goals, refining strategies and looking at how to grow with intention this year. If you’re serious about scaling your business whether that means attracting better clients, increasing enquiries or strengthening your brand; there’s one place you should start: your website. Your website isn’t just a digital placeholder. It’s your first impression, your most important marketing tool and often the deciding factor in whether someone chooses to work with you or moves on. Why Q1 Is the Perfect Time for a Website Review The start of a new business year is the ideal moment to take a step back and assess what’s truly working. Ask yourself: Does my website clearly explain who I am and what I offer? Does it reflect my current brand, not where my business was two or three years ago? Is it easy for visitors to enquire, book or take the next step? If any of these answers feel uncertain, Q1 is the perfect time to make changes. Here’s why focusing on your website early in the year can have a powerful impact. 1. Your Website Should Reflect Who You Are Now Businesses evolve services expand, brands mature, audiences shift. If your website hasn’t kept up, it may be sending the wrong message. An outdated site can make even the best business look unpolished or unclear. Refreshing your design, messaging and structure ensures your website aligns with the level of service you provide today not the version of your business from years ago. 2. Better User Experience = Better Results In 2026, people expect websites to be fast, clear and easy to navigate. If visitors can’t find what they’re looking for quickly, they won’t stay. Improving layout, mobile responsiveness, page speed and calls-to-action can dramatically increase enquiries without increasing your marketing spend. A well-designed website guides visitors naturally towards contacting you without confusion or friction. 3. Modern Websites Are Built for Performance, Not Just Design Website upgrades aren’t just about aesthetics. Today’s websites need to: Load quickly on mobile devices Communicate clearly for both users and search engines Be structured to support visibility, accessibility and conversions Refreshing your site in Q1 allows you to implement modern best practices early, giving your business a competitive edge for the rest of the year. 4. A Strong Website Sets the Tone for 2026 Your website is often the first interaction someone has with your brand. Starting the year with a polished, professional and strategic site sends a clear message: your business is established, credible and ready for growth. When your website works properly, it supports everything else you do marketing, networking, referrals and sales all year long. Quick Website Wins to Start the Year Strong If a full redesign isn’t on the cards just yet, small upgrades can still make a big difference: Clarify your homepage message so visitors instantly understand your offer Strengthen calls-to-action to encourage enquiries Simplify navigation so key pages are easy to find Ensure your site is fully mobile-friendly Update imagery and branding for consistency These changes can significantly improve performance while laying the groundwork for future growth. Q1 is about momentum. The decisions you make now shape the rest of the year. Whether you’re planning a full website redesign or targeted upgrades, investing in your website at the start of 2026 is one of the smartest moves you can make for your business. If your website no longer reflects where you’re headed now is the time to change that. Ready to make your website work harder for you this year? - 2025: My Year in Review
A look back at my biggest wins, growth and the journey that brought me here. As the year comes to a close, I always make space to reflect not just on the work I’ve created, but on the clients I’ve supported, the lessons I’ve learnt and the growth that has shaped my year. 2025 has been full, rewarding, demanding in the best possible ways, and genuinely one of my favourite years in business. My Business Wins in 2025; This year brought achievements I’m truly proud of. - I launched over 50 new websites Fifty websites went out into the world each one designed with clarity, strategy and purpose at its core. From complete rebrands to smaller refreshes, from e-commerce shops to service-based sites, every project came with its own story and challenges. I loved creating each one. - I worked with over 100 new clients Seeing this number written down still feels surreal. More than one hundred business owners trusted me with their brand, their vision and often the first impression their audience sees. I never take that trust for granted. - I refined my processes and deepened my approach Behind the scenes, I invested time in improving my systems, strengthening my brand and website frameworks, and elevating the level of support I offer throughout each project. This year wasn’t just about taking on more work it was about delivering better, more strategic work. My Personal Wins I don’t often share the personal side of my business publicly, but this year deserves to be acknowledged, it felt like a real year or change. I prioritised balance, boundaries and creativity in a way I haven’t always been able to manage before. I carved out time for learning, inspiration and development, and it made a real difference to how I showed up for my clients and myself. Running a business is as much about mindset as it is about skill. This year, I felt myself stepping into the role of a confident business owner not just a designer delivering work, but someone shaping a stronger vision for the future. Why I Started my business; My Journey Since 2016 People often see the polished brand, the portfolio and the final results, but they don’t always know the story behind it. I wanted to share a little of my journey. The Beginning (2016) When I started back in 2016, it wasn’t a fully formed agency, I was a lost 23 year old trying to find her way. There was no 10 year plan or mapped out strategy. It was simply me: creative, curious and eager to help small business owners show up with more confidence online. I kept seeing brilliant business owners struggle with branding or websites that didn’t reflect the quality of what they offered. I wanted to change that to help them feel proud of what represented them online. Over the years, what began as straight forward design work evolved into something far more strategic: Brand foundations that provide clarity Websites designed for conversions and long-term growth Refined messaging that connects with the right audience Ongoing support for business owners who want a strong digital presence Each year brought new clients, challenges and lessons. My Why (and why it’s unchanged nearly 10 years later!!!) At the heart of everything I do is a simple mission:I want small business owners to feel confident, supported and proud of their brand. I create websites and brands that reflect who they truly are so they can grow with clarity. Nearly a decade later, that purpose remains exactly the same. A Note to 2026: If 2025 was a year of expansion and refinement, then 2026 feels like a chance to make an even deeper impact. I’m genuinely excited to support more business owners in creating brands and websites that truly work for them and grow with them. Thank you for being here. Whether you’ve been with me for years, recently discovered my work, or simply follow quietly in the background, your support means more than you know. Here’s to another year of creativity, clarity, and meaningful growth. And however this year felt for you whether you thrived or just about made it through; you did it. Every win, big or small, counts. You should be proud.
- The Hidden Cost of an Outdated Website (and How to Fix It Before the New Year)
It’s easy to put your website on the back burner. You tell yourself you’ll update it “when things quieten down” but somehow, that time never comes. As we head into a new year, it’s worth asking: what is your outdated website really costing you? Because whether it’s slow to load, cluttered, or no longer aligned with your brand, an underperforming website can quietly chip away at your business credibility, conversions, and customer trust. Let’s unpack what’s at stake and how to fix it before 2026 begins. 1. You’re Losing Visitors Before They Even See Your Content In 2025, attention spans are shorter than ever. Studies show that 53% of users abandon a site if it takes more than three seconds to load . That’s half your potential audience gone before your homepage even appears. Old plugins, oversized images, and outdated code can all drag your site’s speed down. And slow loading isn’t just frustrating, it affects SEO too. Google prioritises fast, mobile-friendly sites, meaning your beautifully written content might never be seen if your website can’t keep up. Quick fix: Compress images, remove unnecessary plugins, and consider a full refresh if your backend is more patchwork than purposeful. 2. Your First Impression Isn’t Working for You Your website is often your first meeting with a potential client, and first impressions happen in under a second. Outdated design, mismatched fonts, or dated visuals can instantly make your business feel behind the times. People buy from brands they trust, and trust is built visually before a single word is read. A well-designed site signals professionalism, attention to detail, and pride in what you do. An old one? It can suggest neglect, even if your services are top-notch. Quick fix: Refresh your homepage with clean typography, consistent spacing, and imagery that reflects your current brand style. If your website hasn’t had a full design update in 3–5 years, it’s time. 3. You’re Confusing, Not Converting Modern websites are built to guide visitors on a journey: from curiosity to connection to conversion. But cluttered navigation, broken links, or dated calls-to-action can disrupt that flow entirely. Visitors shouldn’t have to hunt for information. They should feel subtly led towards your services, your contact form, your booking link. If they can’t find it quickly, they’ll simply click away. Quick fix: Simplify your navigation to three to five clear sections. Keep your call-to-action visible on every page. And remember: clarity always converts better than cleverness. 4. You’re Out of Sync With Your Brand Brands evolve, and your website should too. If your business has grown, your services have expanded, or your messaging has shifted, your site needs to reflect that. Nothing undermines trust faster than inconsistency. When your tone on social media is modern and bold but your website still speaks in yesterday’s voice, it sends mixed signals. Quick fix: Audit your content and design. Does it reflect who you are now, not who you were when the site launched? If not, it’s time to realign your digital presence with your current brand strategy. 5. You’re Missing New Opportunities An outdated site isn’t just holding you back, it’s keeping you invisible. New design tools, automation systems, and integrations can streamline your business, capture leads more effectively, and improve your user experience. Think contact forms that connect directly to your CRM, email pop-ups that build your list ethically, or blog systems optimised for SEO. These aren’t “nice to haves” anymore, they’re part of what makes a modern business grow online. Quick fix: Schedule a website audit before the new year. It’s the perfect time to assess what’s working, what’s outdated, and where a redesign could pay dividends in 2026. Your website isn’t a static brochure, it’s your most valuable digital asset. Every click, scroll, and second of loading time influences how people perceive your brand and whether they decide to buy, book, or move on. As the year wraps up, investing in a website redesign isn’t just a cosmetic upgrade, it’s a strategic decision that directly impacts your business growth, reputation, and revenue in the year ahead. - Q4 Is Here. What Will You Do with the Final Stretch of 2025?
The last quarter of the year has arrived, and with it comes both urgency and opportunity. Q4 isn’t just another three months on the calendar. For many businesses, it’s the period that determines whether the year ends on a high or fizzles out with missed goals and untapped potential. If you’ve been coasting through the year, delaying projects, or simply operating in survival mode, Q4 is your wake-up call. It’s the moment to flip into high gear, sharpen your focus, and make every day count. The good news? There’s still plenty of time to finish 2025 stronger than you started. Pause. Review. Realign. Before you go deeper into Q4, take stock: What’s been working and generating traction? What’s been a drain on time, money, or energy and isn’t paying you back? What do you want your year to end looking like, not just start? Be Strategic About These Last 3 Months Q4 requires more than hustle. It demands a plan. Use this time to: Revisit your offers. Can they be sharper, clearer, more irresistibly packaged? Optimise your messaging. Does your brand story and positioning still land? Fine-tune your website. It’s your 24/7 salesperson, so make sure it converts, guides, and reflects your highest level. Streamline operations and invest in systems. Remove friction and automate where possible. Map out Q4 promotions, launches, and content. Don’t wing it, plan your calendar, your campaigns, your deadlines. Small Tweaks. Big Payoffs. You don’t need a total overhaul to make an impact. Some of the highest ROI changes might be: Sharpening your homepage headline or call to action Pruning underperforming offers Adjusting visuals or messaging that no longer resonate Automating manual tasks so you free up time to sell, create, and connect This Is Your Year’s Final Push Q4 is your last and often strongest opportunity to push toward your goals for 2025. Whether that’s revenue, growth, relationships, legacy, or impact, now is when all effort compounds. If you’re unsure how to structure your quarter, tweak your brand, or use your website to its fullest potential, I’d love to help. 📩 Email: claudia@claudiastone.co.uk 💻 Explore Website in a Week: claudiastone.co/websiteinaweek 💻 All Services: www.claudiastone.co/services
- Is Your Website Working as Hard as You Are?
Here’s the truth: your website should be your hardest-working team member. It doesn’t sleep, it doesn’t take weekends off, and it’s available 24/7 for your clients. But if your site feels outdated, confusing, or disconnected from the business you’ve grown into, it’s not pulling its weight. So, how do you know if your website is really working for you: or holding you back? Your business has evolved. Maybe your offers have changed, or your dream clients look different now. But does your website reflect that? If your copy is still speaking to who you were helping two years ago, it won’t resonate with the clients you’re trying to attract today. Is It Easy to Navigate? Imagine someone landing on your homepage. Do they know instantly what you do and how to work with you? Or are they left guessing, clicking through endless menus, or worse, leaving altogether? A high-converting website makes the path clear: one glance should tell your visitor what you offer and how to take the next step. Does It Feel Like You? Branding is about more than fonts and colours. It’s about emotion. Does your website capture your personality, your values, your vibe? If you’re fun and approachable but your site looks stiff and corporate, there’s a mismatch. That disconnect could be stopping dream clients from connecting with you. Is It Mobile-Friendly? More than half of your visitors are likely browsing on their phone. If your site isn’t easy to use on mobile, with buttons too small, text too crammed, or images cut off, you’re losing potential clients before they even see what you do. Is It Bringing in Enquiries or Sales? At the end of the day, your website isn’t just about looking pretty. It’s a business tool. If it’s not generating enquiries, bookings, or sales, then it’s time to take a closer look. Here’s the Good News A website refresh doesn’t have to be overwhelming, and it doesn’t mean starting from scratch. Let’s talk about something that’s probably been on your to-do list for far too long: Getting your website sorted . You’ve got the business idea. You’re offering something valuable. You’ve probably even got an Instagram page and a logo. But the website? Still sitting in that vague “I’ll get to it eventually” folder in your brain. And honestly? That’s costing you. Because until you have a proper online presence, you're relying on platforms you don’t own, sending people links that don’t tell your full story, and missing out on clients who are ready to buy BUT have nowhere solid to land. So here’s a better idea: What if you could have your website live next week ? No, not a clunky DIY site you hate looking at. And definitely not one of those “infinite revision loop” projects that drag on for months and drain your energy. I’m talking about a clean, strategic, totally-you 3-page website that works, converts, and feels like your business. Launched in 7 days. That’s exactly what Website in a Week is designed for. - Q3 Is Approaching – What Are You Doing for Your Business?
The halfway point of the year is nearly here – and Q3 is knocking. For business owners, this isn’t just another date on the calendar; it’s a crucial moment to pause, reassess, and pivot where needed. Maybe Q1 and Q2 flew by in a blur. Maybe some of your goals are still sitting in a spreadsheet, untouched. Or maybe you’re already tracking nicely toward your targets – but know there’s more you can do. Wherever you're at, now is the time to ask: What’s working? What isn’t? What do I want the second half of the year to really look like? This Is the Time to Be Strategic Q3 often brings a shift in energy – summer slows some industries down while others heat up. It's the ideal time to: Review your marketing efforts and see what’s converting. Revisit your brand and messaging – is it still aligned with where you’re going? Refresh your website – does it still reflect the level your business is operating at? Tighten up operations and invest in systems that support growth. Plan ahead for Q4 – the most commercially important quarter of the year for many. Your Website Matters More Than You Think Your website isn’t just a digital placeholder – it’s a 24/7 salesperson, brand ambassador, and first impression all rolled into one. If it’s outdated, hard to navigate, or misaligned with your current offer, you could be missing out on conversions without even realising it. Ask yourself: Is my website clear about what I do and who I serve? Is it designed for mobile-first viewing? Does it guide visitors to take action? Small updates – like rewriting your homepage copy, improving your call-to-actions, or updating your visuals – can have a big impact. Not Every Change Needs to Be Big Sometimes the most impactful shifts are the smallest. Clarifying your offer. Streamlining your services. Making sure your website feels like you and speaks directly to your ideal client. It's easy to feel like you need a complete overhaul when actually, you might just need a fresh set of eyes. Need Support? If you're feeling stuck or unsure how to prepare your business for Q3, you're not alone. Whether it’s strategy, branding, or a website that actually reflects the level you’re operating at, I’m here to help. Let’s make sure the second half of 2025 is your strongest yet. - Mobile First: Why Your Website Needs to Be Designed for Phones in 2025
It’s no secret that mobile browsing has taken over. Whether people are scrolling while waiting in line for coffee or researching a service from bed, your website needs to meet them where they are: on their phones. In 2025, mobile-first design isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. What Does "Mobile First" Actually Mean? Mobile first design is exactly what it sounds like: designing your website starting with the mobile version, then building up to desktop. It’s not just about making things fit on a phone screen—it’s about optimising the entire experience for users on smaller devices. This approach ensures that your website is clean, easy to navigate, fast loading, and focused on what your visitors are actually trying to do whether that’s booking a service, sending an enquiry, shopping your products, or learning more about what you offer. Why Mobile-First Matters: Here’s why mobile-first design should be at the top of your website priorities this year: Over 70% of website traffic now comes from mobile devices Google uses mobile first indexing meaning your mobile site is the primary version they assess for rankings User expectations are higher than ever if a site takes too long to load or is hard to navigate, most people won’t hesitate to come off. If your website isn’t mobile friendly, it’s not just a design issue it’s potentially loosing your clients. When I design websites, mobile optimisation is part of every project from the start. Here's what we focus on: Clean layout and navigation Readable text without zooming Tappable buttons and links with plenty of spacing Fast loading times Images and videos that resize properly across screen sizes Already Have a Website? When was the last time you tested it on your phone? Do a quick check: Is it easy to find the menu? Can you read the text without squinting? Are your services, products or contact options easy to access? If you’re finding problem areas, your potential clients probably are too. Time for a Refresh? If your site isn’t keeping up with mobile expectations, I can help. From subtle design updates to full website redesigns, I create clean, strategic, and user friendly sites that work beautifully across all devices. - Why Your Logo Alone Isn't Enough: The Full Scope of Branding
Your logo is an important part of your brand identity. It’s often the first thing people see, and it helps create recognition BUT branding is so much more than just a logo. It’s the entire experience your audience has with your business, from your messaging and visuals to how they feel when they interact with you. A strong brand builds trust, creates emotional connections, and makes your business memorable. If you think a logo alone is enough, you might be missing out on the full power of branding. 1. Branding is About Perception Your brand isn’t just what you say it is—it’s what your audience thinks and feels about your business. Your logo might set the tone, but everything from your colour palette to your customer service plays a role in shaping that perception. 2. Your Messaging Matters A well designed logo won’t make up for weak messaging. Your brand voice is how you communicate with your audience it should be clear, consistent, and aligned with your values. Whether it’s through your website, social media, or email marketing, every touchpoint should reinforce who you are and what you stand for. 3. Consistency is Key A great brand is instantly recognisable, not just because of its logo, but because of the way it consistently shows up. If your brand doesn’t have that level of consistency, it can be difficult for customers to connect with you. 4. Experience Builds Loyalty Customers don’t just buy products or services, they buy experiences. If your branding is inconsistent or lacks depth beyond a logo, you’re missing the opportunity to build lasting relationships with your audience. 5. Your Brand Evolves With You As your business grows and adapts, so should your branding. Whether it’s refining your messaging, refreshing your visuals, or adjusting your strategy to fit new goals, branding is an ongoing process that keeps your business relevant. If your brand feels disjointed or isn’t fully communicating who you are, it might be time to take a closer look at your overall branding. A well-thought-out brand does more than make a great first impression. I’m here to help you bring your brand to life. - Does Your Website Fit Your Brand?
Your website is often the first touchpoint between your business and potential customers, it’s not just a place to showcase your products or services – it’s a reflection of your brand, your values, and your personality. BUT how do you know if your website truly aligns with your brand? A website that fits your brand does more than just look good. It communicates your story, builds trust with your audience, and creates a seamless experience that resonates with visitors. So, how can you tell if your website is truly a reflection of your business? Here are a few key signs that your website might need a refresh. 1. Your Website Looks Outdated We’ve all been there: visiting a website that feels like it belongs in the early 2000s. Outdated design elements, clunky navigation, and slow load times can all send the wrong message. A poorly designed website can make your brand seem unprofessional, even if your products or services are not. Your website should feel modern, fresh, and in line with current design trends . This doesn’t mean you have to follow every new trend, but it does mean creating a clean, functional, and visually appealing experience that aligns with your brand’s personality. 2. Your Brand’s Voice Is Missing Does your website speak like you? Or does it feel like it was written by someone who didn’t quite understand? Your website’s content, tone, and messaging should reflect the values, personality, and style of your business. Your website should speak to your target audience in a way that feels authentic and engaging. 3. Your Website Isn’t User-Friendly A website that isn’t easy to navigate is an easy way to lose potential customers. If visitors can’t quickly find what they’re looking for, or if the website is difficult to use on mobile, you’re losing opportunities. 4. Your Website Doesn’t Reflect Your Brand’s Evolution As your business grows and evolves, so should your website. If your website hasn’t been updated in a while, it may no longer reflect the current direction of your brand. Maybe you’ve introduced new services, changed your brand values, or shifted your target audience – these changes need to be mirrored on your website. A website that evolves with your brand is more than just a practical tool; it becomes an integral part of your brand’s journey, helping communicate your growth and vision. 5. Your Website Doesn’t Tell Your Story Every brand has a story to tell. It’s what makes you unique and connects with your audience on a deeper level. If your website is all business and no personality, you're missing a huge opportunity. People want to know the "why" behind your business – why you started, what you believe in, and what makes you different. If any of these signs resonate with you, it might be time to reassess your website and make sure it aligns with the heart of your brand. A website that truly reflects your values and personality can do wonders for building trust, engaging your audience, and driving conversions. I'm here to help to help you align with your brand. - 5 Signs Your Business Needs a Rebrand
A well-defined brand is at the heart of every successful business. It shapes your brand identity, helps you stand out, and leaves a lasting impression on your customers. However, as markets evolve and consumer expectations change, refreshing your brand can be a great way to stay aligned and relevant. Here are my 5 reasons why you need to rebrand: 1. Your Brand No Longer Reflects Your Business As your businesses grow, often with expansion of products, services, or target audiences your original brand no longer aligns with what you offer or who you serve, it may be confusing potential customers. A rebrand can help realign your brand identity with your current business strategy. 2. Your Visual Identity Feels Outdated Trends in design change over time, and an outdated logo, colour palette, or website can make your business seem behind the times. If your branding feels stale or inconsistent across different platforms, refreshing your visual identity can enhance credibility and appeal. 3. You’re Struggling to Stand Out from Competitors If your branding looks or sounds too similar to others in your industry, you risk blending in rather than standing out. A rebrand allows you to differentiate yourself, highlight your unique strengths, and attract your ideal customers more effectively. 4. Your Audience Has Changed If your business has evolved to serve a different demographic than when you first started, your branding may no longer resonate with your target audience. A rebrand can help you better connect with your customers by aligning your messaging, tone, and visuals with their preferences and expectations. 5. Your Brand Feels Inconsistent Across Platforms If your branding is inconsistent across different platforms - website, social media, and marketing materials—it can weaken brand recognition and trust. A rebrand ensures a cohesive and professional look across all channels. Rebranding is a strategic decision that requires careful planning, but when done correctly, it can breathe new life into your business. If you recognise any of these signs, it may be time to refresh your brand and position your business for long-term success. - Is It Time for a New Website? Here's How to Tell
In today's digital landscape, your website serves as the cornerstone of your brand's online presence. It's often the first interaction potential customers have with your business, making it crucial to leave a lasting impression. But how do you know when it's time to invest in a new website? Here are key indicators that suggest it's time for an upgrade: 1. Outdated Design Web design trends evolve rapidly. An outdated website can make your business appear behind the times. Modern, clean, and responsive designs not only attract visitors but also build trust. 2. Poor Mobile Experience With the majority of users accessing websites via mobile devices, a site that isn't mobile-friendly can lead to high bounce rates. Ensure your website offers a seamless experience across all devices. 3. Slow Loading Times Users expect websites to load quickly. A delay of even a few seconds can result in lost visitors. Optimising your site's performance is essential for retaining user engagement. 4. Difficult Navigation If visitors struggle to find information due to complex menus or poor layout, they're likely to leave. Intuitive navigation enhances user experience and encourages exploration. 5. Inadequate Functionality As your business grows, your website should accommodate new features like e-commerce capabilities, booking systems, or integrated blogs. An inflexible site can hinder your business's expansion. Partner with a Professional Recognising the need for a new website is the first step; partnering with an experienced web designer ensures the project aligns with your business goals. At Claudia Stone Marketing & Web Design, I specialise in creating bespoke websites that are functional, effective, and tailored to your brand's unique identity. Ready to Elevate Your Online Presence?
